6 drug peddlers nabbed, huge quantity of drugs seized in Bongaigaon

BONGAIGAON: Jogighopa Police nabbed six drug peddlers along with a huge quantity of drugs. As per sources, Jogighopa police and Mazer Alga River police jointly nabbed one drug peddler on Monday evening named Hatem Ali , a resident of Dhaknabari area of Bongaigaon district, along with a motorcycle (AS-19-N-9166) at Oudubi Bazar area under Jogighopa PS of Bongaigaon district. Police immediately interrogated him and on the basis of Hatem Ali's confession, police launched an operation and nabbed another five drug paddlers.

The nabbed drug paddlers are Keyamot Ali from Beltoli area of Dhubri district, Shahidul Islam from Sedamari village of Jogighopa, and three other peddlers came from Rangamati area under Chapar PS of Dhubri district in a Maruti car (AS-01-G-3943). During the search operation, police recovered a huge quantity of illegal cough syrup from the house of Keyamot Ali. Police in this regard continued the search operation.

GOLAGHAT: The Golaghat Police arrested five persons on Tuesday from Santipur area of Golaghat town for involvement in selling and running drugs business. The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Raja Khan, Sakib Haque, Najim Ali Amir Khan and Pintu Shah. The Officer-in-charge of Golaghat Police Station, Dipak Bora said that a theft took place at Alupatty of Golaghat town and in this connection one Shakib Ali was arrested. For recovering the stolen materials, the Golaghat police carried out search operation in the house of Amir Khan. During search operation, police recovered about 1.5 gram suspected heroine from Amir Khan's house. In this connection the Golaghat police arrested five drugs peddlers- Raja Khan, Sakib Haque, Najim Ali Amir Khan and Pintu Shah.
