TINSUKIA: The day-long 61st biennial conference of Panitola circle of Assam Chah Karmachari Sangha (ACKS) concluded on Monday at Chandmari TE auditorium with selection of new office bearers and adoption of few resolutions.

The open session chaired by Baikuntha Kumar Gohain, was addressed by Rishav Kalita, central secretary of Tingrai branch, Ratul Sarma, central treasurer, assistant labour commissioner Konpai Das and BaikunthaSarma, among others. Renowned educationist Abdul Rauf as chief speaker narrated the history of ACKS. A 9-member executive committee was formed with MoniramGogoi and Jai Chandra Saikia as president and secretary respectively. The resolutions adopted in the meeting were fixation of employees' salary on the basis of land holding having area of less than 250 acres and above. The meeting also resolved to strengthen the infrastructure of the garden.
