MORIGAON: The Bhuragaon Police has arrested a 65-year-old person for the rape and murder of a 9-year-old minor girl.
The accused has been identified as Sayed Ali. According to police, Ali had raped the 9-year-old after killing her at a jute field in Balidunga under Bhuragaon PS on June 20.
The accused was working in a Madrassa. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Bhuragaon in Morigaon on June 25 and assured the victim's parents that the culprits would not be spared.
