DIPHU: The 69th foundation day of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) was held at the KAAC Secretariat conference hall on Tuesday. The open session was presided over by Ritesh Enghi, deputy speaker of KAAC. The chief guest was KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang while MP Horensing Bey and many other dignitaries took part. CEM Ronghang announced new town committees in Karbi Anglong. They are Manja, Dolamara, Phuloni, Samelangso and Deithor. Earlier, he garlanded the statue of Ru Semson Sing Engti near the Council Lake, Diphu.
In West Karbi Anglong district also the 69th KAAC Foundation Day was celebrated at Hamren KAAC Branch Secretariat. KAAC EM Rupsing Teron hoisted the national flag. Teron and MLA Dr Mansing Rongpi MLA also garlanded the statue of the Ru Semson Sing Ingti at the Hamren Old Market.
