7th Assam International Agri-Horti Show from December 17

GUWAHATI: The 7th edition of the Assam International Agri-Horti Show will be held in a 3-day format from December 17 to December 19 this year. Atul Bora, the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary for the Government of Assam made this announcement.

This year's Assam International Agri-Horti Show has been organised with the theme Youth for Renaissance in the Agri-Horticultural Sector and aims to showcase the recent growth in the sector in Assam. It also aims to highlight the options and opportunities in this field.

The main attraction of the event will be the showcasing of agriculture and horticulture-related products by a large number of players in this field. Another key attraction is the list of technical seminars that will be hosted to mark the occasion. These seminars will deal with a variety of topics including Floriculture as an emerging economy for the state, Self-sufficiency in quality planting materials including Hi-tech horticulture, Assam Millets Mission, Horizontal Expansion of Horticulture, Agri-Horti Startup Ecosystem - Challenges and Opportunities, Innovative Business Models to Uplift Agri-Horti Sector in Assam, Export of Agri-Horti Commodities, Seed Sector in Assam, Capacity Building in Organised Approach: Organic and Natural Farming in Assam.

Apart from the above, the event will also see special sessions aimed at Buyers- Sellers' interaction, Climate Change and its impact on agriculture, and the Development of Strategies specially for the North Eastern States. Representatives from Myanmar, Thailand, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Nepal, Ghana, Kenya and Bhutan will be present for this year's event.

Assam International Agri-Horti Show 2022 will have 152 stalls for NGOs, startups, FPCs and farmers showcasing their products. 100 stalls will be for manufacturers and dealers of various types of equipment, and 70 nurseries from across the state will also participate here. 30 food and refreshment stalls and 50 departmental outlets will also be present.
