82nd CRPF anniversary celebrated in Golaghat

The 142 Bn, CRPF celebrated the 82nd CRPF anniversary on Tuesday in a befitting manner at Unit HQr location, Jonaki Nagar, Golaghat.

GOLAGHAT: The 142 Bn, CRPF celebrated the 82nd CRPF anniversary on Tuesday in a befitting manner at Unit HQr location, Jonaki Nagar, Golaghat.

At the outset Bharat Kumar Vaishnav, Commandant 142 Bn, along with other officers, subordinate officers and other ranks of 142 Bn paid homage to martyrs. The Commandant of 142 Bn conveyed best wishes to all ranks of the unit and delivered a speech indicating the significance of the day-how CRPF was raised on July 27, 1939 as Crown Representative Police and later renamed as Central Reserve Police Force in 1949. Today, CRPF have 247 battalion, 15 RAF Bn, 10 Cobra Bn and various branches of CRPF are deployed across the country to maintain law and order as well as internal security.

Thereafter, Commandant 142 Bn, hoisted a new flag and took salami in the Quarter Guard, distributed sweets to the Unit personnel and conducted special plantation drive at Unit HQr. In the evening, an inter-company volley ball competition, cultural programme as well as 'Bara Khana' were organized.

PALASBARI: The 175 Bn CRPF celebrated the 82nd CRPF anniversary on Tuesday at Rani. At the outset, Subhash Ch. Sarma, Commandant of 175 Bn, along with other officers, subordinate officers and other ranks of 175 Bn paid homage to martyrs. Assistant Commandant of 175 Bn, Abdul Rahim, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur, Inspector Anit Singh and many others were present on the occasion.
