Mankachar: Allegations have been levelled against the Tumni Community Health Center (TCHC) for negligence.

The South Salmara Regional Student Organization (SSRSO) has said that doctors, medical staff are not following rules and regulations of the hospital in Mankachar District of Assam.

A team of South Shalmara Regional Student Organization visited the health center to examine the matter on Saturday after they came to know about the issue from the locals of the area.

Rakibul Islam, the president of SSRSO said that whereas the hospital opens at 9.30 am, doctors reach by around 11 pm. "The doctors and the medical staff treat the patients without wearing a mask. They do not even use sanitizer."

There were supposed to be 30 beds for the patients, there are now only 6 beds and rest beds are not used.

Not even an ambulance was found at the health center.

All most all the rooms inside the hospital are locked, only a few are open. It looks more like a private institution or center rather than a hospital.

The team of SSRSO urged the government to take immediate action against this corruption otherwise, they will stage a protest in the future, the student body said.
