Dibyajyoti Kalita left for the heavenly abode on 26 June 2021. The untimely demise of Dibyajyoti Kalita is a great shock and loss to all of us. He was the eldest son of Late Padma Kt Kalita of South Amolaptty Chariali.

When we go back to the yesteryears, we could see Dibjyoti Kalita (Baba) as a very youthful and dynamic person in the fields of music, culture and social activities.

After Matriculation from Don Bosco High School, Dibrugarh in 1984, he played a very active in local music and cultures brand 'Shristi Sangeet Dal' — from organizing music competitions to other cultural functions in the 1990s. During this period, he released an audio cassette of modern Assamese songs entitled 'Snigdha Jonak' which was recorded in the studio of reputed artiste Usha Uthup. Assamese musician Bhadra Kt Das and Chandan Pathak (DDK Executive) were his intimate companion of those golden days.

Dibyajyoti Kalita was an active member of Dibrugarh unit of AJYCP (Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad) and also became the State's cultural secretary of the organization. He was a very nationalistic-minded person.

A charming aspect of his personality was that he never disappointed people who used to approach him for his help and suggestions.

Subsequently, he joined the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and contested the municipal election.

On this day of his 'Adya Shardha' (July 5, 2021), I pray to the Almighty for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
