AAI extends financial assistance to cancer hospital for ambulance

SILCHAR: Airport Authority of India (AAI) has been generous in extending financial assistance of Rs 39 lakh plus for procurement of most sophisticated ambulance for Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre here. A memorandum of agreement in this regard was signed between Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Keerthi Jalli and Airport Director Pradip Kumar Gorai at the conference hall of the DC office on Wednesday. It is relevant to mention that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is authorized to support initiatives for improving and promoting infrastructure for benefit of people by upgrading health services.

This project is aimed at making Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre the best centre of treatment in the country and to serve the patients in a most effective manner. The management of the hospital is faced with a number of hurdles in giving its best with the dedicated team of doctors and nursing staff due to lack of good and functional ambulance and other related matters.

Keerthi Jalli expressed her happiness at the financial assistance provided by AAI and hoped this would continue as a part of its commitment to social participation in the larger interest of suffering people of the most backward and economically weak region. She conveyed her gratitude and gratefulness to AAI for support to the CCHRC. Officials of the AAI, Dr Ravi Kannan, Director, CCHRC, and planning and nodal officer, Ruli Doulagophu were also present on the occasion.
