DEMOW: The All Adivasi Students Association of Assam (AASAA), Demow Regional Committee burnt the effigy of Tezpur MP Pallab Lochan Das in Rajmai on Tuesday as he has allegedly opposed granting ST status to the 36 communities of Adivasis. The AASAA activists shouted various slogans against the Pallab Lochan Das and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The AASAA Demow Regional Committee has demanded to provide ST status to the Adivasis soon. In the programme, Mahendra Manki, district vice-president of AASAA, and other leaders were present.
