AASAA stages protest in Mohokutie Tea Estate near Demow

Under the patronage of All Adivasi Students Association of Assam (AASAA), Mohokutie Primary Committee, a two-hour demonstration was staged in Mohokutie Tea Estate near Demow on Thursday.

DEMOW: Under the patronage of All Adivasi Students Association of Assam (AASAA), Mohokutie Primary Committee, a two-hour demonstration was staged in Mohokutie Tea Estate near Demow on Thursday.

The activists of AASAA, Mohokutie Primary Committee submitted a memorandum to the manager of Mohokutie Tea Estate. They demanded that the daily wage of tea labourers should be increased to Rs 351, 20 per cent bonus should be given to tea labourers, the money of the PF gratuity should be given, unemployment youths should be given work according to their educational qualification, school bus should be provided for students, houses of the labourers in the tea estate should be repaired and ambulance facility in the tea estate should be improved. AASAA, Mohokutie Primary Committee has demanded the authorities of the tea estate to resolve these issues.
