TAMULPUR: The activists of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Tamulpur Commerce College Unit and Tamulpur College (Barnagar) unit staged one hour sit-in on Tuesday to demand adequate supply of textbooks to the students of the colleges under Bodoland University (BU) and to demand declaration of the results of the examination held by Bodoland University within the specified time.

The activists shouted slogans against the government demanding resolution of the problems faced by the students studying in various colleges under Bodoland University. Participating in the protest programme, Dulujit Das, education secretary of Baksa district AASU, alleged that it was the conspiracy of the government against the students of Assamese medium. "The AASU will never tolerate such kind of conspiracy against the students of Assamese medium," he said. Dulujit Das demanded immediate steps to supply sufficient textbooks for the students of the colleges under Bodoland University or the AASU would be compelled to intensify the stir.
