AASU, Lakhimpur along with citizens pay tribute to Citizenship Amendment Act martyrs

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district body of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) on Wednesday paid deep homage to the martyrs who made supreme sacrifice during the agitation programs initiated against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), 2019. This program was undertaken in the district as part of the second phase agitation declared by the central committee of the organization.

On this occasion, all the regional units of the organization under Lakhimpur district committee lit earthen lamps in the public places of the district under their jurisdiction commemorating CAA martyrs Dipanjal Das, Sam Stafford, Dwijendra Panging, Iswar Nayak and Abdul Alim.

The North Lakhimpur regional unit AASU lit earthen lamps at the swahid bedi in North Lakhimpur town. Attending the programs, the AASU district dignitaries and the activists took the resolution to intensify the anti-CAA agitation in the upcoming days. Most people of the district also lit earthen lamps paying tribute to the CAA martyrs.
