AASU organizes Rongali Bihu Adarani in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: Like the previous years, the Lakhimpur district unit of All Assam Students' Union (AASU) organized the Rongali Bihu Adarani programme on Friday on the first day of the month of Bohag in association with its North Lakhimpur regional unit.

The event was organized at the playground of North Lakhimpur Government Boys' HS School playground. It began with the unfurling of organizational flag by president Simanta Neog while retired Principal of Itanagar Government College, Yoga expert Bali Narayan Phukan unfurled the Bihu flag. General secretary Swaraj Sankar Gogoi conducted the swahid tarpan programme. In the same event, Gojali, the wall magazine of the North Lakhimpur regional unit of the organization was released. During the event, Lakhimpur AASU felicitated almost 150 prominent personalities who contributed much through various fields for the development of the district. Various cultural groups and the participants of the Rongali Bihu workshop presented Husari, Mukoli Bihu, Bihu dance in the event. On the other hand, vocal artistes Kalyandeep Gogoi and Lakhichandra presented songs in the cultural programme.
