TINSUKIA: Members of 11 committees of AASU (All Assam Students Union) including the TDSU (Tinsukia District Students' Union) organized a human chain here to protest against the soaring price rise of essential commodities, on Friday.

TDSU general secretary Samar Jyoti Gohain said, "At a time when the masses are grappling with shrinking income due to the second wave of Corona pandemic, the unabated rise in prices of fuel and essential commodities has added more misery."

While demanding an immediate halt to the sky-rocketing price rise, he also criticized the indifferent attitude of Supply Department.

AASU vice-president Binoy Dubey and one of its executive members, Rana Sonar, also participate in the protest programme.
