AAUA urged Minister Ashok Singhal to take steps for the development of North Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of All Assam Unemployed Association (AAUA) has urged Urban Development Minister Ashok Singhal to take special steps to ensure development of North Lakhimpur town and to shape the town with adequate plan.

In this connection, the organization submitted a memorandum with a slew of demands to the minister concerned who visited Lakhimpur district on Wednesday. AAUA Lakhimpur district unit president Binod Das said that the organization, by submitting the memorandum, demanded the minister to take step to construct market complexes to resolve the problems of the street vendors, to regularize the jobs of the temporary, casual employees of the North Lakhimpur Municipal Board (NLMB), to set up market complexes and parking venues in the place of Lakhimpur District Jail by displacing it to another place.

Further the organization demanded the Urban Development Minister to take steps to pay salary to the safai karmis of the NLMB, to evict the illegal encroachers upon the government lands in the town, and to cancel the license of the shopping malls of North Lakhimpur town having no parking place facility.
