ABSU & UBPO express gratitude to Government for implementing BTR Clauses

KOKRAJHAR: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and the United Bodo People's Organisation (UBPO) expressed their gratitude to the Government of Assam led by Sarbananda Sonowal for passing bills for Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) and Assam Official Language (Amendment), 2020 in the last day of Assembly session on Wednesday.

The general secretary of the UBPO Anil Basumatary warmly welcomed and conveyed his heartfelt thanks to the State government and Union government for passing the bills for BKWAC and Assam Official Language (Amendment), especially Sarbanada Sonowal, the Chief Minister of Assam , Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Fimance Minister of Assam, Chandan Brahma, Minister of WPT&BC, Assam, Ranjit Kr. Das, President of BJP, Assam Pradesh Committee, Hagrama Mohilary, former chief of BTC and former MP (RS) Biswajit Daimary for their relentless efforts to create the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council.

On the other hand, the ABSU lauded the timely implementation of clauses of BTR accord by passing two bills in the ongoing Assam Assembly.

Kwrwmdao Wary, assistant general secretary of the ABSU expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal and Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, cabinet minister of finance, education, health etc. for their dynamic role towards passing the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council Bill, 2020 as of the clause 5.1 and Assam Official Language (Amendment) Bill, 2020 accordingly as per 6.2 Clause.

Wary said the passing of two bills have ensured the security and integrity of Bodos with own language identity in the State of Assam. Thanking the government of Assam, ABSU hopes for implementation of the remaining clauses of the BTR Accord by the State of Assam.
