Accountant caught red handed taking bribe in Silchar

SILCHAR: Acting on a complaint from a retired government official, State's vigilance and anti-corruption cell along with Cachar police arrested an employee of the Treasury office red handed while he was taking bribe. A police source said, Madan Mohan Singha, a senior assistant accountant of Silchar Treasury office was arrested on Wednesday while he was taking Rs 10 thousand as bribe. Police confirmed that Singha was on duty. However, the identity of the person who lodged the complaint was not disclosed by Cachar police.

Meanwhile, SDGP GP Singh, the director of Vigilance and anti Corruption Cell of State police tweeted that Madan Mohan Singha demanded Rs 10 thousand from a retired public servant for processing commutation loan.
