Action Will be Taken Against Those Involved in Question Paper Leak: Pijush Hazarika

GUWAHATI: Protests against the examination question papers for General Science went on throughout the day in different parts of the state of Assam and Minister Pijush Hazarika announced that proper action will be taken against those involved in the incident on Monday.

Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika holds multiple portfolios with the government of Assam including Parliamentary Affairs, Water Resources, Information & Public Relations, Printing & Stationery, Social Justice & Empowerment. He condemned the incident of leaking the question papers on the General Science subject.

Pijush Hazarika said, “Whosoever has played with the lives of the students to put them in this situation since the commencement of the exam shall bear his sin. Proper action will be taken against them,” while adding, “We are taking the matter with utmost seriousness and proper investigation will be done in connection to it.”

“We are apologetic for whatever happened and we accept the blame. Such an incident should not have been faced by our students. We will discuss the matter with Ranoj Pegu,” Mentioned Pijush Hazarika.

“General Science examination of the ongoing HSLC examination scheduled for 13/03/2023 has been cancelled by SEBA in view of media reports of leakage of the question paper. The next date will be announced in due course,” announced the education minister of Assam Ranoj Pegu. This tweet came just before midnight of Monday.

The examination was supposed to take place across 100s of examination centres across the state on Monday. But with reports of the question paper being shared over social media and messaging platforms, the education minister of the state announced the postponement of the examination.

Protests regarding the same started since the morning of Monday. Members of the All Assam Students Union raised questions on the inability of the members of the education department on conducting one examination without hiccups. Congress and AAP leaders and members protested and called for the immediate resignation of the Education minister of the state.

While the Assam DGP has mentioned that a complaint was registered and his department is looking into the source of the question paper coming out.
