Sibsagar:
Former president of Assam Sahitya Sabha Imran Shah released the book,
"Addressing the Paradigms of State" by Dr. Sabyasachi Mahanta at an event held
at Sibsagar.
Author Mahanta is the Principal of Gargaon College,
Sibsagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Shah, an eminent writer, poet, novelist, and scholar of Assam and a former professor of Sibagar college said," the book is very useful and important for the current situation. Things have changed now and in this difficult time if we do not think at all about solving the problems, it would be difficult to save the Assamese culture."
According to Shah the contents of the book is tough, it
touches upon and discusses several very socially and politically significant
but delicate issues that many might not want to talk about. The book also
talks about the cuisines of Assam and food rights, another sensitive topic.
He said as the book is written in the English language
which is a good thing as people from every corner of the country would
understand its content and he hoped, the book would win readers' hearts soon.
Speaking on the occasion, the author of the book, Dr.
Mahanta said that he had tried to discuss the political context of recent times
along with the social and human rights issues of present times.
Santosh Dutta, Secretary of District Sahitya Sabha, Firoz Khan, member of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, along with several social activists were present on the occasion.
