GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that his government will soon post an advertisement for 10000 government jobs in different sectors while talking to reporters on the morning of Friday, December 2. Minister of Tourism, Jayanta Malla Baruah also accompanied the CM
He mentioned that these recruitments will be a part of the 100000 jobs promised by his government. 80000 posts of different levels have already been filled via different recruitment drives conducted by the government. An advertisement for 10000 posts will be released within the first half of January and these will be mainly for the newly announced forest battalions of the state. And the remaining 10000 will be filled in the coming 3-4 months.
The CM made this announcement while visiting the Pandu region and the new Pandu - Kamakhya road of the city in the morning. A large number of houses were gutted in the region in a fire yesterday. He visited the region and gave a compensation of Rs 25000 to each of the families effected by the fire and assured them GI roofing sheets for the reconstruction of their houses.
Himanta Biswa Sarma also visited the newly constructed road that connects Kamakhya Temple to the Pandu Port and noted some discapncies on the road that may cause problems for visitors. He announced that three new bridges will be created in a phased manner to remove these problems as suggested by the IIT Guwahati. One of these bridges will be over the Brahmaputra river. The whole project might need another year to be completed, but once done, it will decrease the travel time from the Guwahati Airport to the Kamakhya temple to a mere 15 minutes, said the chief minister. Another project that the goverement plans to undertake is a walkway connecting the main temple of Kamakhya and the parking for easier access by specially-abled visitors and mentioned that discussions are of with the temple management regarding the same.
