After 10 years in Tippi, trafficked girl returns home in Dhekiajuli

Taking prompt action, Chariduar Police managed to rescue an Adivasi girl from Tippi in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday.

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Taking prompt action, Chariduar Police managed to rescue an Adivasi girl from Tippi in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. She was reportedly trafficked from her home at the age of seven.

According to the information received from Child Welfare Committee, Sonitpur, one of the family members of the girl had sent an application to Dilip Kumar Baruah, chairperson of Child Welfare Committee, narrating about the girl of Dhekiajuli area who was trafficked at the age of seven years to Tippi, Arunachal Pradesh. She is now 17 years old and was working there as a child labour, but she could not be rescued despite several efforts made by her family.

Taking action, Child Welfare Committee immediately intimated the Officer-in-charge of Chariduar Police Station and within 24 hours, the Chariduar Police rescued the girl and handed her over her to her family on Saturday.
