After five days of celebration of Durga Puja, on Monday the immersion of Durga idols was done in Demow River.

DEMOW: After five days of celebration of Durga Puja, on Monday the immersion of Durga idols was done in Demow River. The COVID-19 pandemic had dampened the festive spirit this time. Durga Puja was celebrated following strict COVID protocol in Demow and its surrounding areas. In the presence of local administration and Demow Police, the Durga idols were immersed in Demow River on Monday. The Durga Puja of Nabajyoti Sangha Demow Santipur celebrated its 49th Durga Puja this year and this Puja was organized in Santipur near Demow Radha Krishna Mandir.

Due to the COVID-19, there were only three Durga idols in Demow this time which were immersed in Demow River on Monday. Demow Thakurbari Durga Puja, which is the oldest Durga Puja in Demow area, made flex printing of Goddess Durga this time. On the day of Vijaya Dashami on Monday, people distributed sweets and youngsters were seen taking blessings from their elders.
