AGP candidate confident of victory in Bhawanipur constituency

Ranjit Deka, the Bhawanipur assembly candidate of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), is confident of victory and claimed that he would get over 45,000 votes.

PATHSALA: Ranjit Deka, the Bhawanipur assembly candidate of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), is confident of victory and claimed that he would get over 45,000 votes.

Speaking to the correspondent, Deka said that the people of the constituency had shown faith in the AGP and they believed that the party would work diligently for the development of the constituency. Deka in the last one month had visited over 1,500 households in the constituency seeking votes.

On the other hand, Kamal Kumar Medhi from Raijor Dal, PhanidarTalukdar from AIUDF and Independent candidate AbulKalam Azad are also contesting from Bhawanipur constituency.

Two-time sitting MLA AbulKalam Azad recently resigned from the AIUDF after he was denied election ticket. PhanidharTalukdar was given the party ticket to contest from the constituency. Abul will contest from the constituency as an independent candidate. He expressed his confidence that the people would support him despite his resignation from the party. The total number of voters in Bhawanipur constituency is 1,39, 928.
