AGP Jana Jagaran Sabha: Atul Bora vows to secure regional politics

LAKHIMPUR: In view of the upcoming Assembly election, the Naoboicha Bidhan Parishad unit of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) organized a large public meeting at Laluk Sports Association playground at Laluk of Lakhimpur district on Saturday. The meeting, titled as Janajagaran Sabha, commenced with Laluk Bidhan Parishad unit president Ramani Saikia in the chair while AGP central committee secretary cum projected MLA candidate of AGP for Naoboicha LAC, Jayanta Khaond delivered the welcome address.

Attending the event, AGP president cum Agriculture Minister, Atul Borah vowed to secure the regional politics. He gave word to ensure security and due development to more than eighty thousand minority voters of the constituency in the forthcoming days. In connection with his lecture, the AGP president compared the Congress and AIDUF with Jarasandha, a character of the epic Mahabharat. He said that AGP would root out Congress-AIUDF in the upcoming assembly election as Bhim killed Jarasandha in Mahabharata.

Encouraging the party activists and the supporter, Atul Borah promised to mobilize AGP with new mission and vision.

"We are not traitor. Our party is proceeding with dynamic policies at present. We have refined ourselves with the promise of repeating no mistake", Atul Borah said. He criticized Congress and AIDUF with strong terms in his lecture.

On the other hand, AGP working president Keshab Mahanta appealed to all to keep on trust on the party in order to lead it with secular characteristics and new vision. In addition to them, AGP general secretary cum Lakhimpur MLA Utpal Dutta, Asom Yuva Parishad president Jitu Borgohain, artiste Mahendra Hazarika, AGP Sanskriti Parishad president Kalpana Patowari, Pranamika Goswami, Asom Chatra Parishad president Trinayan Baruah and many other dignitaries of AGP and its brother-sister organizations took part in the event.

The AGP central leaders were escorted to the event venue from the Ranganadi bridge with a large bike rally. Almost thousand people including supporters of various political parties like AIUDF congress joined AGP in the event.
