LAKHIMPUR: The members of the Lakhimpur District Committee of All India Democratic Students' Organisation (AIDSO) resorted to protest programme in Lakhimpur on Saturday along with the rest of the State strongly opposing the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020).

Notably, the organization has opposed the NEP-2020 since the beginning terming it to be "the Blue Print for the Commercialization and Communalization of Education". Under such circumstances, the organization initiated the protest opposing to the Cabinet decision taken yesterday to implement the NEP-2020 in the State. On this occasion, the members of the organization, led by Lakhimpur district unit president Jonnoni Miri burnt the dummy copy of the NEP-2020 at DK Road Chariali in North Lakhimpur town. While staging the protest, the protesters shouted slogans to demand for the withdrawal of the alleged anti-public NEP-2020, not to introduce semester system from ninth standard, not to demean the value and importance of the HSLC exam, not to introduce four year long Degree Course, not to pave the way to hand over to native and foreign corporate sector along with many others demands.

By staging the same protest, the organization further demanded not to introduce 'Blended Mode' of learning to destroy the classroom teaching process and flayed the Government in connection with other various issues regarding the NEP-2020.
