Guwahati: In a very shocking revelation, the Legal Rights Observatory (LRO) said that the foundation led by the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal, receives funds from various non-governmental organisations (NGOs), which have a link with terrorist groups.
The LRO is a legal rights organisation, which is affiliated with the Hindu-nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. It listed the NGOs who have given fund to Ajmal Foundation. One of them is Al Imdaad Foundation UK, which is an organisation linked with Palestinian Intifada spearheading terror group Hamas. It has financed several suicide bombings against Israelis in Palestine.
Another NGO listed by LRO is the Ummah Welfare Trust UK. It is accused of terror financing and money laundering. US Treasury has designated the Trust as a terrorist entity in the past. IHH- Insani Yardim Vakfi (Foundation for Human Rights & Freedoms n Humanitarian Relief) is a Turkey-based NGO which is flagged by several government agencies as it is said to have direct links with AlQaida terror group and Global Jihad Network.
One of the donors of funds is the Muslim Aid of the UK, which has direct connections with Hizb Ul Mujahiddin, a Muslim terror group.
The Ajmal Foundation has received around Rs 70-75 crores yearly. However, they have only spent Rs 2.5 crores in education.
Assam Minister of Finance, Health, Education and PWD, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke about the funds received by the Ajmal Foundation. He said that Ajmal does not spend a penny from his own pocket when it comes to Ajmal Hospital or Ajmal Education. However, he claims to do so.
Sarma has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene and start an inquiry to take out the dirty money from Ajmal.
