AJYCP demands action against communal forces in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) has demanded the Chief Minister to initiate action against communal forces allegedly active in the State. In this connection, the Lakhimpur district unit of the organization, as part of a Statewide initiative, submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister on Saturday through the District Commissioner.

In the memorandum, signed by Lakhimpur district AJYCP president Hiranya Dutta and general secretary Diganta Bhuyan said, "It has been observed that unabated communal clash is creating havoc in various states of the nation by destroying the peaceful environment and harmony. Many people had to lose their lives due to such communal clashes which also ravaged public properties. Of late, it has been observed that some communal forces, a section of fundamentalist organizations and individuals have initiated different unlawful activities in Assam too to break the law and order in the State. Even a section of communal organizations has managed to conduct arms training openly. Under such circumstances, there is a distinct apprehension that such anti-social activities will pose as tremendous threat to the Assamese society in near future."

In view of 'the imminent treat' concerned, Lakhimpur AJYCP demanded the Chief Minister and Ministry of Home Affairs to control the alleged communal forces, fundamentalist organizations and individuals and to keep close watch on their unlawful activities.
