LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) has demanded the Prime Minister's intervention in a bid to control the price hike of essential commodities and ongoing illegal syndicates in the State. In this regard, the organization submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday through the Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur.

In the memorandum, countersigned by Lakhimpur AJYCP president MondeepNeog and general secretary in-charge, JagatSaikia, the organization alleged that many illegal syndicates were unabatedly going on in the State and they were mainly responsible for the growing prices of the essential commodities.

"Our organization has been initiating various protest programmes, consecutively demanding the end of these syndicates. The existence of such syndicates is against the zero tolerance attitude against corruption," they said.
