TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia district branch of Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad organized a lecture programme on ‘India: Role of Assam and Assamese People in Nation building’ at Tinsukia College conference hall. Invited as resource person, renowned writer and literary critic Dr Mridul Sharma spoke elaborately on the topic, citing several references to historical perspectives in Indian contexts stressing on geographical situation, cultural diversity and socio-economic standings. Another invited speaker, Smritirekha Sharma made a thoughtful deliberation on ‘Assamese Children’s Literature - its nature and growth’. The programme was attended by many distinguished persons including Dr Agastya Baruah, Juri Bora Borgohain, Dr Junu Mahanta, Dipti Dutta Kalita, Rajarshi Gogoi. Chaired by Dr. Nonirupa Chetia President of Tinsukia district branch of Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, the meeting had an interactive session.
