ALA's Estimate Committee visits Dima Hasao to examine various schemes

The Estimate Committee of Assam Legislative Assembly (ALA), chaired by MLA Prasanta Phukan, was on a two-day visit to the district of Dima Hasao to scrutinize the progress of schemes under 11 departments in the district.

HAFLONG: The Estimate Committee of Assam Legislative Assembly (ALA), chaired by MLA Prasanta Phukan, was on a two-day visit to the district of Dima Hasao to scrutinize the progress of schemes under 11 departments in the district. The committee, comprising six MLAs, 12 departmental officers and five Assam Assembly officers, reached Haflong and made spot visits of various projects on Thursday and Friday.

The projects that were visited are Bamboo Industrial Park at Manderdisa, Horticulture Garden at PT Leike Longsef, Irrigation scheme at Chandpur Nagar, Mahur Residential School at Asong Haju, Agriculture market and water supply schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission. On the second day after a brief field visit, the team held a review meeting at Haflong Circuit House with the heads of all departments under the council. The committee scrutinized the entire listed departments to check the implementation, progress, anomalies, and quality control of various schemes. Following the scrutiny, the committee will submit a report in the Assembly, which will include findings and recommendations regarding the schemes.

The eleven departments are PWD (R&B), PHE, Water Resource, P&RD, Irrigation, Forest, Excise, Soil Conservation, Fishery, Women & Child Development Dept, Agriculture and Mines and Minerals.

The Members of Legislative Assembly present during the review meeting were Prasanta Phukan, MLA of Dibrugarh, Khumtai MLA Mrinal Saikia, Mankachar MLA Aminul Islam, Goalpara West MLA Abdur Rashid Mandal, Nagaon MLA Rupak Sarmah and Barkhetry MLA Diganta Barman.
