KALAIGAON: The Kalaigaon Anchalik Committee of AABYSF (All Assam Bengali Youth Students' Federation) organized its 10th trienniel conference at the premises of the Balipara Durga Mandir on Saturday near Kalaigaon town.
The day-long programme started with flag hoisting. After that, Pintu Paul, president of Udalguri District Committee of AABYSF offered floral tributes on the portrait of founder advisor Benimadhab Roy who breathed last recently. Paul was accompanied by other AABYSF workers.
On the occasion, an open meeting was held. It was presided over by Brindaban Das, former Secretary of AABYSF.
The new committee with 31 members of the organisation was formed. It is headed by Bikash Devnath as president and Debashis Mandal as general secretary. The prime objective of the organisation is to organize the Bengali people in a democratic platform.
Subhajit Sutradhar, secretary of AABYSF BTAD zone and Nipu Mandal, secretary of Darrang AABYSF spoke in this meeting. Subhajit Sutradhar appealed to the people of Bengali community, particularly the young generation, to make thorough study on the life and works of the legends like Swami Vivekananda and Netaji Subhas Ch. Bose which would help the younger generationto get involved in building the India as they dreamt. Moreover, several noted persons like Pradip Bishwas, Pintu Adhikari and Narayan Das took part in this open meeting.
