All Assam State Primary Teachers’ Association to participate in national convention

GUWAHATI: The All Indian Primary Teachers’ Federation will be holding its 29th national convention from May 11 to May 13 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. On May 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the event. At the convention, 500 teachers will be participating under the banner of the ASPTA (All Assam State Primary Teachers’ Association). At the convention, several Union ministers and other ministers from the Gujarat government will be participating. Education International (EI), which comprises 193 countries, will also be attending the convention, especially President Susan Hopgood and Secretary David Edwards.

Ratul Chandra Goswami, the secretary general of ASPTA, said that the quality of the learning education in primary schools would be a major focus and that various steps would be taken in regards to that. Also, they will be discussing the cancellation of the NPS (National Pension Scheme). Regularising the posts of the contractual teachers and amending the various anti-teacher clauses of the NEP (National Education Policy) will be discussed.

In the country, almost three crore children don’t have access to education, so there should be measures to bring them back to school. Also, the issue of child labour will be discussed, along with various measures to curb the problem.
