LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur districts body of All Assam Unemployed Association (AAUA) on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the Executive Engineer of Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED), Lakhimpur Division to take steps to control the alleged corruption, while implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme. The organization initiated this step after the local public of Moinapara Banhbari under Boginadi area submitted written complaints to the organization alleging corruption being taken place while implementing the JJM scheme in the area.
Through the memorandum countersigned by Lakhimpur district AAUA president Binod Das, the organization demanded the Executive Engineer concerned to take steps to transfer the PHED employees who has been working as Section Assistant (SA) in the same place for more than three years. Moreover, the organization demanded for the transfer of the Junior Engineers (JEs) too, who have also been working in the same place for more than three years. In this regard, the organization demanded the Executive Engineer to submit the list of such JEs to the higher authority. Through the same memorandum, the organization further demanded the Executive Engineer to launch a probe into the alleged corruption taken place in the Boginadi area while implementing the JJM scheme and to initiate steps against the supervising employees of the scheme implementation work as per the departmental procedure. The organization submitted the copies of the same memorandum to the Chief Minister, PHED Minister and to the Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur.
