UDALGURI: The All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU), Udalguri district committee conferred the prestigious Fwrdanna Daimari Memorial Literary Award to Nabin Malla Boro, the renowned Bodo writer of Udalguri on Thursday.
The award consists of a citation, anga bastra, a memento and cash Rs.20,000. The award was conferred at the 47th annual conference of Udalguri district committee, ABSU held at Harisinga. Lohit Chandra Boro, the president, and Nijwmsa Boro, the general secretary, and the members of Fwrdanna Daimari Memorial Trust praised the efforts of Nabin Malla Boro in developing Bodo literature.
Nabin Malla Boro began his literary career with the short story Maonaishree in 1975, published in Jalaishree Bodo magazine. His books are Debajit Malina Arw (1983), Borai Fagladiyani Gwdan Dara (2007), Gosw Fanjarini Bibar (1996), Lwithorugun Somnath-Dwarakani Mojomse Bisambi (1996), Chitrakutnifrai Mount Abu (1998), Thunlai Maothi Bihuram Boro (1998), Pictorial Glossary in Bodo, CIIL, Mysore (2008), CIIL Ao Sannaiso (2010), Hadan (2003), Dajab Dankh Jiuni Sanreb (2018), and Gothai (2020).
He received the Someswari award from the Bodo Sahitya Sabha for his book Hadan in 2004, Sahitya Akademi for Child Literature in 2010 for his travelog Chitrakutnifrai Mount Abu, Mangal Chandi Brahma Award for his novel Debajit Malina Arw in 2016 and State teacher award as best teacher in 2012. The State Government has honoured him with the literary pension for his tremendous contribution to literature and society. Many organizations and people have congratulated him for his achievement.
