All Bodo Students' Union will Support on Key Issues & Functioning of BKWAC

The All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) has decided to extend all supports to the new Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) on key issues and proper functioning of the council for the all-round development of the Boro Kachari people living outside BTR.

KOKRAJHAR: The All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) has decided to extend all supports to the new Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) on key issues and proper functioning of the council for the all-round development of the Boro Kachari people living outside BTR.

Talking to this reporter, the EM of BKWAC, Anil Basumatary said that for the first time after formation of new council, a joint meeting between the BKWAC and ABSU was held at Bodoland Guest House, Khanapara in Guwahati on Wednesday. The meeting, which was initiated by EM Basumatary, was also attended by representatives of United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO).

Basumatary said that the joint meeting discussed on crucial issues like inclusion of Boro villages of Sonitpur and Biswanath districts in BTR and BKWAC, proper implementation of all clauses of BTR accord, construction of permanent head and regional offices of BKWAC, fund allocation, sanctioning of posts and sending adequate official staff to new council for proper functioning and to start developmental works with smooth flow of fund. He also said that the ABSU had assured that they would apprise the State Government for taking initiatives to make BKWAC a role model council in the State and ensure that their stand on the key issues of the new council would continue in the days to come.

The members present in the joint meeting from BKWAC side included-Mihiniswar Basumatary, CEM, Gambaru Muchahary, chairman, Anil Basumatary, EM, and Romeo P. Narzary, deputy CEM, while from ABSU side included Dipen Boro, president, Khwrwmdao Wary, vice-president, Khanindra Basumatary, general secretary, Kastom Basumatary, assistant general secretary and Swmao Basumatary, education secretary, ABSU.
