BOKO: All Rabha Students' Union Kamrup District Committee along with other sister organisations jointly observed the 18th Rabha National Martyr's Day at Jarapara Village in Boko on Saturday. All Rabha Students' Union's president Nripen Khanda, Lalita Rabha, president of Rabha Women Council, Ajit Rabha, president of Kamrup District ARSU committee, RHAC deputy councillor Romakanta Rabha along with RHAC's executive members Sumit Rabha, Frylin R. Marak, Aditya Rabha and many other leaders from different organisations took part in this programme.
24 people had been martyred during the protest for Rabha Autonomous Council with Sixth Schedule under the Indian Constitution. One from Kamrup district and the other 23 people from Goalpara district. ARSU felicitated their families on Saturday. In the day long programme, ARSU leaders and RHAC members paid floral tribute on Martyr's photo. It may be mentioned that, last year the Kamrup district ARSU had established a permanent cenotaph at Jarapara Village in Boko to remember the martyrs. The daylong programme was presided over by the Kamrup ARSU committee secretary Namal Rabha.
