'All should unite against privatization of Railways'

"The Indian Railways is moving through a dangerous situation. The BJP government is conspiring to privatize the complete railway industry and already the process has started by privatizing several trains.

DIBRUGARH: "The Indian Railways is moving through a dangerous situation. The BJP government is conspiring to privatize the complete railway industry and already the process has started by privatizing several trains. This is very much pathetic that a profit-making public sector is planned to handover to corporate houses," said Shib Gopal Mishra, general secretary of All India Railwaymen's Federation at Dibrugarh in an open session of Central Council Meeting (CCM) of North East Frontier Railway Mazdoor Union (NFRMU) on Monday. He said that all labour class people have to stand united together against this conspiracy of the government.

The CCM started with union flag hoisting by Kamalesh Sarma, vice president of NFRMU. Several hundred delegates from the entire NF Railway participated in the meeting.

Later, a colourful procession was taken out throughout the Dibrugarh town.

The open session was presided over by Kamalesh Sarma where several noted persons including Shib Gopal Mishra, Ashish Biswas, Pijush Chakraborty, Joint GS, NFRMU delivered speeches. The dignitaries appealed to all Railwaymen to stand unitedly to save the industry.
