The All Tiwa Students’ Union (ATSU) has condemned the killing of 12-year old Sumila Ronghangpi and has demanded exemplary punishment for the culprits through a judicial probe.

MORIGAON: The All Tiwa Students' Union (ATSU) has condemned the killing of 12-year old Sumila Ronghangpi and has demanded exemplary punishment for the culprits through a judicial probe. The deceased minor, Sumila Ronghangpi was working as domestic help in the house of Prakash Chandra Barthakur, a retired bank employee at Khaigar under Raha revenue circle. Sumila was the daughter of Sarthe Ronghang and Basapi Cropi of Kudam Ronghang village under Baithalangsu PS, Karbi Anglong district.

The organization led by president Dipak Amsong, alleged that Borthakur and his son Nayan Jyoti Borthakur tortured Sumila and then burnt her alive by pouring kerosene over her body on April 22. The organization appealed to provide judicial help the family so that the family could get the justice immediately.
