JAMUGURIHAT: The alumni meet of Chatia College was held in the conference hall of Chatia College with Ganesh Pathak, president of the governing body in the chair, on Saturday.
Earlier, a roadside rest house was inaugurated by president Pathak. The open session began with illumination of earthen lamps by Narayan Hazarika, president of the Alumni Association. Dr Dipen Bharali, assistant professor of Chatia College and secretary of the Alumni Association, explained the objectives. Chaitanya Bora, vice president of the Alumni Association, forwarded a welcome address.
Ratul Deka, former student of the college and assistant professor of Bodoland University, graved the occasion as chief guest and addressed the gathering. The meeting was also addressed by Dr Swapan Kumar Kalita, principal of the college, Anuj Saikia, vice-principal, Hemanta Bora, assistant professor, besides others. Alumnus of the college, Bhabarnav Saikia, who won the bronze medal in a national powerlifting championship held in Delhi recently, was felicitated in the meeting.
