Amidst State Durga Puja Celebration, Road Accident Claim Lives of 3 in Assam

Three persons in Assam died in tragic road accidents occurring during the Durga Puja festival

GUWAHATI: At the time when the festival Durga Puja is celebrated all over the state, a tragic road accident took place on Wednesday 13 October in the Bongaigaon district of Assam causing the death of two persons.

The unfortunate road mishap occurred during the evening hours when one of the two persons was riding a motorbike.

As per reports, the deceased was riding at high speed more than required and the accident happened as that particular bike gets hit by one of the tractors passing by on the same road.

The deceased bodies were later recognized through their identification as possessing names of Ratul Muchahary and the other Nijam Basumatary. Further, the two victims of the road accident in the Bongaigaon district were the students studying in the Bongaigaon College.

In another similar road accident that took place in the Dhekial area of Golaghat where a person namely Dipur Das confronted death.

Dipur Das died on the accident spot and as per investigations, it is suspected that the person who had violently hit his vehicle on to Dipur Das might have fled away from the spot as soon as people could gather and inform the police.

During the auspicious occasion of the Durga Puja festival, such road accidents are very frequent as the roads are mostly jammed with gatherings involved in worshipping.

This festive season people needs to be much aware of the rules and regulations associated with road and must follow the guidelines and instruction of traffic police and other road authorities. Chief Minister of the state Himanta Biswa Sarma before the start of the festival Durga Puja tried to aware the youth of the state by appealing to them that they shouldn't ride their motor bikes when they are drunk or in any way under the influence of alcohol as this might lead to accidents in the state.
