Anil Basumatary nominated as new Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council chairman

The Governor of Assam Gulab Chand Kataria issued notification of nominating present EM of Education Anil Basumatary as the new chairman of (BKWAC) replacing Gambaru Mashahary who was removed due to certain complaints.

KOKRAJHAR: The Governor of Assam Gulab Chand Khatari on Friday issued notification of nominating present EM of Education Anil Basumatary as the new chairman of Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) replacing Gambaru Mashahary who was removed due to certain complaints.

The secretary of Tribal Affairs, Government of Assam Binita Pegu stated in official notification that in partial modification of earlier notification no. TAD/BC220/2020/185, dated February 17, 2021, earlier noification No. ECF 261408/39 dated January 4, 2023 and in exercise of the power conferred under section 60 of Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council Act 2020, the Governor of Assam is pleased to nominate Anil Basumatary as the chairman of the interim body of the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council with immediate effect and until further order.

Basumatary while talking to this correspondent said he was not aware about nomination of his name as the chairman of BKWAC. He said getting upper post was not a matter but he will work for the welfare of the people and dedicate for economic development. He said he will devote himself with his best ability for the people in BKWAC area.
