LAKHIMPUR: Anti Corruption Youth-power, Assam (ACYA) came down heavily against the anomalies alleged in the appointments of the posts of Panchayat & Rural Development Department (P&RD), Directorate of Information and Public Relation (DIPR) and Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) exam fiasco in a press conference held at North Lakhimpur Press Club on Friday.

Addressing the mediapersons, State president of ACYA, Dharma Kanta Gogoi demanded Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s direction to all these departments in order to hold exams again for the appointment process. He further demanded to launch adequate inquiries against those anomalies alleged and to ensure legitimate punishments to those who were involved in the misdeeds.

He alleged that the State government had broken the record with regard to the occurrence of consecutive anomalies in the appointment processes. He added that the genuine unemployed youths were betrayed by patronizing corruption and engaging selected companies which were favoured by ministers and officers. He expressed his resentment that though the organization had filed FIRs at Dispur Police Station regarding the alleged anomalies of P&RD and APDCL exam fiascos, no development with effective initiatives by police department could be seen in this regard.

Dharma Kanta Gogoi further demanded the Lakhimpur DC to take disciplinary action against the Motor Vehicle Inspector, who was transferred to Lakhimpur from Tezpur three months back, quoting various public allegations against him. “This officer has attended his office between 12am and 2pm violating all governmental rules and regulations during the last three months. The files have remained mysteriously pending in his table,” he alleged in the press conference.
