LAKHIMPUR: A two-day long training programme on Rice Knowledge Bank usage was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Lakhimpur under the aegis of Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) on Wednesday and Thursday. A total of 60 participants comprising farmers, NGOs and FPC members and extension functionaries of ATMA from different blocks of the district attended the programme.

The programme commenced with the welcome address by APART Project Associate Mouchumi Dutta . Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, Lakhimpur, Dr. Prasanta Kr. Pathak in his speech motivated the participants to adopt modern agricultural technologies and to forward step towards scientific agricultural practices. APART Assistant Project Scientist Brishti Saikia gave a brief overview of APART while laying stress on the importance of mechanization in the crop fields. Subject Matter Specialist of KVK, Lakhimpur, Lakshi Kanta Nath placed his expert view on scientific management practices of paddy fields by throwing light upon different agricultural applications available on digital platforms. Kandarpa Baruah, Assistant Professor, College of Veterinary Science, Lakhimpur also graced the programme with his valuable presence.
