Ashok Singhal addresses students on 'Role of Youth in Nation Building'

The minister was speaking to the students of Kaziranga University.

JORHAT: Assam's Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Ashok Singhal visited the premises of Kaziranga University in Jorhat on December 15, Thursday and integrated with the authorities, teachers and students of the institution.

Ashok Singhal also gave a talk on the ' Role of Youth in Nation Building.' He said India, the world's largest democracy, is also home to the largest youth population in the world. Unlike most of the developed Western countries, the average age of our country's residents is just 28 years. And this is very encouraging for the prospects and future of the country and if the youth follows the right path, our country can usher in a new era of development and growth.

The minister also highlighted the ideals of the prime minister about the importance of the youth in all sectors of the country. He also mentioned the new steps towards the comprehensive development of the youth and added that the new National Education Policy of 2020 will take them even further. It also helps in taking a collaborative and multidimensional approach towards education irrespective of social or economic background.

He also mentioned the steps taken by the state and union government towards skill and entrepreneurship development towards attaining self-sufficiency in the state and the entire northeast region. The growing number of enterprises and the development of the economy is evidence of the acceptance of government schemes by the youth, he added.

Calling the youth of the nation the backbone of a country, the minister said that it is impossible to build a new India without the active cooperation of the youth. He said that the youth of the country must play the role of the main craftsmen in the rapid rise of India as one of the largest economic powers in the world and the enable of building an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.
