ASLSA & Aaranyak hand over masks to State zoo authority

PATHSALA: In a latest addition to its steps taken to fight the Covid 19 pandemic, the Assam State Legal Services Authority (ASLSA) in collaboration with biodiversity conservation and research organization, Aaranyak handed over 500 hand-made face-masks to the authority of Assam State Zoo and Botanical Garden, Guwahati on Friday for distribution among its staff.

Members secretary, ASLSA, Nayan Shankar Baruah said that due to their nature of work, the zoo staff fall under one of the vulnerable groups in the current situation. Executive chairman, ASLSA and Judge, Gauhati High Court, N. Kotiswar Singh addressed the informal meeting through video conference and appreciated the step as a humble gesture showing concern for all in this difficult time. He advised to continue organizing more such web-based programme to overcome the new challenges encountered due to the pandemic.

The brief interaction that held at the conference hall of the State zoo in the presence of a few senior judicial officers of ASLSA and District Legal Services Authority, Kamrup (M), DFO and other officers of the Zoo and Aaranyak executive members, emphasized on coordinated efforts to deal with issues of the Forest department as well as with wildlife crimes.
