GORESWAR: A memorandum was submitted by the Goreswar Anchalik unit of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) to the State Food and Civil Supply Minister Ranjit Dass through the Goreswar circle officer on Tuesday, demanding free rice to the beneficiaries of the National Food Security Act- 2013.

The AJYCP alleged that since last month, the PDS dealers were not distributing rice to beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act-2013 at Goreswar, Maharipara, Pub-Defeli and other places in Tamulpur Civil subdivision.

The AJYCP alleged that the government did not pay the transportation cost and commission for free rice distribution to the dealers. As a result, they had stopped distributing free rice. The AJYCP unit demanded the State Government as well as BTC authority to release the commission and transportation cost to the PDS dealers so that the poor beneficiaries would get the benefit of the National Food Security Act- 2013.
