NALBARI: The Assam State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (ASEDC) has been allegedly depriving regular electricity supply to more than 10,000 customers of Nalbari Sariyahatli electricity distribution station under Rangia division for a long time. The district unit of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) sent a memorandum to the Deputy General Manager regarding this issue on Friday.

The town electricity distribution centre has been supplying electricity to more than 10,000 families in and around Nalbari town since September 18 due to auto-closure failure. The electricity department had purchased old machines from other centres and repaired them but they failed again within a few days.

A delegation of Nalbari District Committee of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad led by general secretary Jogesh Kalita sent a memorandum to the Deputy General Manager through the Assistant General Manager at Poila, Nalbari demanding the installation of new auto closures and regular supply of electricity to the people.
