Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad protest in Nagaon

Along with the rest of the state, Nagaon district body of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) also staged a three-hour sit-in on Wednesday against the initiative of the State Government to teach Mathematics and Science in English medium from class III.

NAGAON: Along with the rest of the state, Nagaon district body of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) also staged a three-hour sit-in on Wednesday against the initiative of the State Government to teach Mathematics and Science in English medium from class III.

Over 100 protesters from the youth organization participated in the stir and demanded to withdraw this fatal decision of the State Government as early as possible. During the agitation, the participants shouted various slogans against the State Government for not appointing permanent school heads in lower primary schools across the State for over years and stated that because of this problem, the atmosphere of education in the primary level has been hampered across the state. In a press note signed by Pragjyotish Bonia and Debashish Das, the president and secretary of the district unit of the youth organization respectively, urged the State Government to ensure fresh appointment of school heads in all lower primary schools in the state as early as possible.

Following the agitation, the district unit of the youth organization submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner, Nagaon.
