Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Parishad stages protest against price hike in Golaghat

The activists of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Parishad (AJYP), Golaghat district committee staged sit-in near the Deputy Commissioner's office on Monday protesting against the price hike of essential commodities in Golaghat district and demanding withdrawn the 'anti-farmers' bill.

GOLAGHAT: The activists of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Parishad (AJYP), Golaghat district committee staged sit-in near the Deputy Commissioner's office on Monday protesting against the price hike of essential commodities in Golaghat district and demanding withdrawn the 'anti-farmers' bill.

The members of the organization shouted various anti-government slogans. AJYP general secretary of Golaghat district committee said that common people were suffering a lot under the rule of the BJP government. Instead of controlling the price hike of essential commodities, the BJP government excluded rice, dal and oil seeds from the category list of essential commodities.

He said that the AJYP also strongly opposed the three farm bills and demanded their immediate withdrawal. The protesters demanded check in the price hike of essential commodities and immediate withdrawal of the 'anti-farmers' bills.
